The partnership between Quezon City and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) was strengthened with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement among the parties on June 30, 2021. Highlighting the significance of the event, the signing ceremony was graced by Secretary of Labor Silvestre Bello III, OWWA Administrator Atty. Hans Leo Cacdac, OWWA NCR-Director, Ma. Teresa B. Capa and our Quezon City Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte with PESO Manager Rogelio L. Reyes
The MOA strengthened the partnership between DOLE, OWWA and QC thru QC-PESO MSD in addressing the needs of OFWs through the establishment of an OFW help desk in every barangay. During the ceremony, the first successful applicant-beneficiary from Quezon City of the Tulong PUSO program were granted with Php 1,000,000.00 as livelihood assistance for the[WU1] “OFW NCR Federation ” an OFC Chapter addressed at Brgy. Silangan District 3 Quezon City in support of the expansion of their enterprise.
