To commemorate Labor Day, the Department of Health initiated a vaccination program in Quezon City on May 2, 2021. The vaccination drive is intended to protect QC resident beneficiaries and to reducing their vulnerability to COVID-19, especially to essential workers and OFWs.

DOH Secretary Francisco Duque in partnership with the local government of Quezon City  under the leadership of  Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte graced the QC-Resbakuna vaccination drive to ensure that more essential workers are vaccinated in order to protect them in the course of their employment. For OFWs on the other hand, being fully vaccinated is a requirement for employment in host countries. It also serves as protection for OFWs prior to deployment. Secretary Duque personally vaccinated  a select batch of QC-based beneficiaries, including some of the 50 OFWs that were endorsed by the Migration Services Division under the Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (QC-PESO MSD).
